Oppenheim Toy Portfolio

I have had some amazing experiences thanks to CLCD. Just last month I got to go to my first ALA National Conference in Orlando, FL where I met amazing people and acquired a bazillion(maybe not a word)books. Now most recently I have CLCD to thank for a significant decrease in my bank account and my shelf space. After an innocent search of my toddler’s most beloved character, Chu, the panda bear from Chu’s Day by Neil Gaiman and Alex Rex, I came across yet another award of the thousands that CLCD features.  Now I have so many books that I just have to have for Gertrude.

The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio is an independent guide to children’s media started by a mother and daughter, Joanne and Stephanie.  Joanne was a children’s author and well-known expert on toys who wrote numerous parenting books and articles.  Stephanie was a corporate lawyer who awakened to the amazing world of children’s toys and medias when her first son was born.  Together the duo founded the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio whose awards have become a benchmark of excellence with toy manufacturers and consumers.  They are contributors with the Today show and have partnered with the show for their annual Toy Review.

These books have received the gold seal given to products that enhance the lives of children.
