Award of the Week-Children’s Book Award

The Children’s Book Award (UK) is the only national award voted for solely by children from start to finish. Any child or young person within the UK can vote in the Top Ten to choose the Category Winners and the Overall Winner, whether they are members of the Federation of Children’s Book Groups or non-members. It is highly regarded by parents, teachers, librarians, publishers and children’s authors and illustrators as it truly represents the children’s choice. Overall winners for the last 5 years are listed below.

2017 Winner

2016 Winner
	My Head Teacher is a Vampire Rat By: Pamela Butchart The third zippy and zany tale by Pamela Butchart sees Izzy and her friends plunged into more primary-school craziness. This time, they decide that their new head teacher is a vampire rat, based on his being slightly scary, having the blinds drawn in his office during the day and the fact he’s banned garlic bread at lunchtimes. Now they just have to come up with a plan to vanquish him.
2015 Winner
	The Day the Crayons Quit By: Drew Daywalt When Duncan arrives at school one morning, he finds a stack of letters, one from each of his crayons, complaining about how he uses them.
2014 Winner
